Leica M11 Monochrom ISO performance test and sample photos
Hello everyone,
A new and exiting camera has finally came out and it features a still hard to believe, 200000 max ISO.
How does it perform?
I took some sample photos during the night and during the day.
Below the results, from base ISO 125 to max ISO 200000 in one stop increments.
NOTE: images processed with Capture One Pro. At the time of the test, a camera profile form Phase One has yet to be released. Noise reduction for all pictures was turned off.
First test was done at night, only artificial light available.
The second test was done in the morning with natural light. At high ISO the electronic shutter was used.
At max ISO I could’t stop down the lens anymore, so the picture is a bit overexposed.
What do you think? Pretty impressive, isn’t it?
Next up, a dynamic range test with the triple resolution.
The first image is at 60Mpx, the second at 36Mpx, the third at 18Mpx.
All takes were over exposed by 2 stops and then taken down 2 stops in C1.
Last but not least, some pictures around Milano taken with the new M11 Monochrome and the new Summilux-M 50 f/1:1.4 ASPH. with close focus. Only the picture of the flowers was taken with a Summicron-C 40 f/1:2.
